Good Evening All,

I hope we are all making the most of the mild weather at the moment and capturing some lovely autumnal images. Chrissie and I certainly did recently when we went to Richmond Park although actually managing to locate a stag in the mist was a challenge in itself.

Thanks all for turning out in such good numbers for the 1st practical evening which I hosted and I hope a few of you went home having learnt something new. One of the websites that is really informative that I used for the print out is www.luminous-landscape.com If you haven't visited the site before I can assure you it is well worth a look both for the photos there and the information that is provided by many contributors.

Steve Bell sent out an email to you regarding this weeks coming digital print competition on Thursday 27th October and as a reminder entries have to be sent to Steve by 6.00pm on Tuesday, his email address again is sb.photos@mac.com So please get your entries in early. I certainly know that there are at least 12 prints already entered and we are limited to around 80 in total. Good luck to everyone who submits their work.

With regards trips I am going to try to arrange a trip to Westonbirt National Arboretum for 3 weeks time. Again depending on the weather outlook nearer the time will dictate whether it is the Saturday or Sunday and also numbers interested. I could make it sooner, IE next weekend if there is enough interest. Please let me know by email or see me on Thursday at the club night.

Also, this week I will hopefully make arrangements for a trip to Skomer to stay on the island and to photograph the puffins hopefully in June. The cost to stay on Skomer is £60 per person and I would need a 25% deposit (£15) from you. I know Linda and Tom have got back to me already, but if anyone else is interested again please let me know.

Chrissie undoubtedly will be extremely busy in the next few months getting our club's images together for our annual 'Photo Images' competition. Can I just ask that everyone tries their best to get their entries to Chrissie ASAP to save her being innundated with photos to mount at the last minute, remember she has a day job as well and also Shadow and of course Gordon to look after on top of everything else.

We are trying hard to raise the club's image in a positive manner by entering inter club competitions as you may be aware. Collectively the members of our small club are constantly producing some excellent work and long may this continue. These competitions take on many different formats and so you maybe asked to submit work for these in the near future so please be prepared. I appreciate this may seem a little daunting for some people, it isn't a case of winning rather that we take part which counts and matters.

Finally a pat on the back to Ross who recently had one of his photos featured in a digital publication for free runners that recently featured in the print competition. Well done Ross.

See you all hopefully on Thursday

Darrell
